Troubled: Amanda, pictured in New York on Monday, says she has an eating disorder
Amanda Bynes says she is suffering from an eating disorder and has a 'hard time staying thin.'The troubled actress took to her Twitter account on Thursday to make the revelation after threatening legal action against websites and blogs who have said she is suffering from 'a mental illness.'
'They take pictures anytime I've gained weight then write a fake story!' she declared.
The 27-year-old star has recently spoken candidly about her weight, recently telling Us Weekly she would like to lose 21lbs to reach her 100lbs goal.
'I moved to New York City and I love it' she said. 'I lost 4lbs since I moved. I'm 121lbs. My goal is 100lbs. I gain weight quickly so I need to work out constantly.'
The Easy A actress also posted a picture of herself in a tight top and skirt on Twitter alongside the caption: 'Looking pudgy and I broke my nail.'
There have also been recent reports that she is apparently rejecting help from her family amid worrying reports about her increasingly bizarre antics.
The actress' recent behaviour has been described as 'tragic' by a woman claiming to be a relative in an interview recently published by InTouch magazine.
A day after she stepped out on her 27th birthday, alone and looking dishevelled, the woman tells the tabloid: 'She's completely resisting any help that her family wants to give her.'

InTouch apparently contacted her parents' home on March 28 when the interview was conducted.
Friends have allegedly said her parents don't know what to do as Amanda has cut contact with everyone since she moved from Los Angeles to New York following some legal trouble and to pursue her dreams of becoming a fashion designer.
She has reportedly settled two hit-and-run cases after reaching a civil compromise with her victims, saving herself from a potential 12 months in jail.
Still the move to New York didn't get her out of hot water.

InTouch also accuses her worrying staff at New York City's W Times Square hotel during a recent stay.
'She'd come down to the lobby wearing a different wig each day,' an 'eyewitness' said, adding that in one instance she was 'found her curled up in the corner of the gym smoking — with no pants on!'
The actress was once a bright young star of Nickelodeon but her recent antics apparently have her loved ones deeply concerned.

But the disturbed star is reportedly refusing to move back to the West Coast to allow them to keep a closer eye on her.
She was pictured on Wednesday walking aimlessly around the city by herself in a dishevelled state.
Her newly tinted pink hair was mattered and hidden underneath a fur-trimmed hooded jacket and she covered her eyes behind dark sunglasses.

'She had bad extensions and we were working around her sunglasses and extensions. We gave her a great blowout,' the manager said.
'We ran her credit card twice and it was declined. She was also trying to buy some hairspray too. Then she bolted on us, and took the hairspray with her!'
Amanda has posted a string of strange Twitter messages in recent weeks, including a rang about an unnamed ex and crude message saying she wanted rapper Drake to 'murder her vagina'.
