Kim, 32, was snapped on Wednesday struggling to contain her ample curves in a low-cut maxi dress, while Kourtney, 33, looked decidedly more elegant in the exact same frock while pregnant with her second child Penelope in 2012.

The reality star, who was eight months' pregnant at the time, looked slender and sophisticated in the frock, which fit her perfectly.

Fast forward nine months, and Kim emerged wearing the same dress when she made a stop for frozen yoghurt in Los Angeles.

But the outfit appeared to be too small for the curvy star, who looked in danger of revealing more than she bargained for as she chatted with friends at the Sweet Harts frozen yoghurt store.

The pair appear to also have been sharing some beauty tips as they both teamed the frock with sandals and wore their dark hair in loose waves over their shoulders.

Kim recently took to her blog to respond to criticism of her maternity style.

'I saw some comments that were so critical!' she wrote. 'It’s funny because Kourtney warned me that when I get pregnant people’s opinions will be on an all time high and everyone will chime in. So I now see what she means.'

She added: 'I saw some comments that the skirt is too tight for the pregnancy and that’s ridiculous! I bought this skirt a few sizes bigger and there is plenty of room.'

'They make pregnancy Spanx which are tight. So this theory sounds ridiculous! I feel my best when I am in heels and chic clothes! Happy mommy, happy baby!'

And unemployed teenager Burnell Taylor managed to move Mariah Carey to tears for the second time time this series after his shock dismissal on American Idol on Thursday .

The multimillionaire diva bawled like a baby after the Louisiana native was kicked off the show due to a public vote that shocked and appalled the judges.

After a staggering 25 million votes from viewers the top three contestants were picked as orphaned Texan Kree Harrison, food services worker Angie Miller, and the severely speech impaired Lazaro.

Next to be saved was administrative assistant Candice Glover and Amber ‘legs for days’ Holcomb – both favourites for the judges and Jimmy.

That left ‘Southern Belle’ Janelle Arthur and 19-year-old Burnell at the bottom of the barrel.

Burnell was left singing for his life with the India Arie ballad Ready For Love. He was hoping the judges would make a unanimous decision to use their single ‘save of the season’ to keep him in.

But it wasn’t to be.

‘I’m sorry, no,’ said Randy Jackson.

‘Good luck brother, we love you, we love you,’ he sighed to the teen, who had worked hard to lose a lot of weight during the competition

Before the elimination the Idol top seven kicked off the night by singing Queen’s 1976 hit Somebody to Love.

Carrie Underwood has had 17 number one hits since her Idol win eight years ago – wearing a peach ball she performed her new single See You Again, and welled up when describing what Idol meant to her.

As usual music mogul Jimmy Iovine dished out some tough love for the contestants.

‘Most people chose the wrong song last night,’ said the veteran producer, referring to Wednesday rock music night.

He criticised Burnell for singing ‘behind the beat’ with Bon Jovi's You Give Love a Bad Name, but did not place him at the bottom of the pile.

‘He gave rock a bad name last night…it sounded like the band was playing on east coast time and he was singing on west coast time,’ he jibed.

He said that Lazaro and Angie murdered Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love and compared them to bad wedding singers. 

‘I would have cancelled the wedding,’ he said.

‘They completely missed the point of the song. Freddie Mercury would never have written a song the way they sang it,’ he sniffed.

Suffering from a ‘pinched nerve’ last night Kree still managed to impress the panel and the voting public.

‘She sings with dignity this girl,’ praised Jimmy, who was also satisfied with Janelle’s performance. 

‘Janelle did a competent job last night...I put her right in the middle,’ he said. 

Unlike Randy, Jimmy did not rate the girls’ group song from last night.

‘I agree with Nicki, the only thing that was good about that was Amber’s jeans,’ he said.

He also noted Amber’s vast improvement over the weeks: ‘Amber is on her way to having the whole package,’ he said.

Despite having ‘the wind machine on tornado’ during her last routine Angie impressed Jimmy.

‘She gave a beautiful performance,’ he said, adding that she needs to sing more with her ‘heart and gut’ than her brain.

Jimmy picked Angie, Kree and Candice.

‘I didn’t know this was going to be told to the world…so thanks Nigel,’ she said referring to Nigel Lythgoe, the 63-year-old producer of the Idol.

When asked to explain her choice she said: ‘I feel like they are girls’ girls and they could really go far in this industry.’

She also complimented Amber on being a ‘young Whitney Houston’.

Randy said he wanted to include Candice too: ‘She is unbelievable as well,’ he said.

Mariah went with Jimmy and chose Candice over Angie – as well as Kree and Amber.

The Butterfly singer, 42, said the decision was a tough one: ‘They basically bound and gagged me in my trailer, I have more of a top five than a top three,’ she said.

Shaggy-haired Season Nine finalist Casey James dropped by to sing and strum The Good Life, a track he wrote himself.

‘American Idol changed my life,’ said the 30-year-old Denver boy, who has a self-titled country album out.

The 32-year-old star teamed the clinging black trousers with a long beige coat and matching top and wore her long dark hair loose around her shoulders.

Kim has only just jetted back to Los Angeles from Paris where she spent time with her rapper boyfriend Kanye West, and seemed to be coping with the jet lag well.
The star has struggled with criticism of her maternity style since announcing her pregnancy and recently took to her blog to defend her maternity style.

It was recently revealed that Kim's request to move the court date forward - because it clashed with a perfume launch - was denied by a judge.

Court documents say the star, who was indulging in a pampering session in Los Angeles, asked that the planned May 6 court date be moved up to May 3 due to a previously scheduled work event in New York City.
TMZ reports that the planned event is a new perfume launch.

Humphries has requested an annulment on the grounds of fraud or if the court will not grant an annulment, a decree of legal separation rather than Kim's requested divorce.

Women considering breast reduction surgery could save themselves thousands of pounds - by buying a new bra instead.
Doctors say many female patients who resort to plastic surgery to ease back pain could achieve the same result by wearing underwear that fits.
Investing in new lingerie could save them up to £5,500 - not to mention being a lot more fun than recovering from a major operation.
Dr Alex Clarke of The Royal Free Hospital in North-West London, which routinely offers breast-reduction patients a free bra fitting, said: 'Women have the opportunity to be properly fitted by an expert bra fitter when they visit the clinic.
'This may be the first proper fitting they have  had.
"To date, 100 per cent of those fitted have been wearing the wrong size.
"This results in the weight of the breasts being carried by the shoulders rather than the chest and contributes to back pain."
However, others said surgery can have benefits, particularly in the case of women whose back pain is brought on by slouching in a bid to not draw attention to their breasts.
Douglas McGeorge, president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, said: "Women who are self-conscious about the size of their breasts tend not to want to show them.
"It is not just down to taking weight away, it is the whole psychological change.
"They feel more confident about themselves, their shoulders go back, they stand up straight and a lot of their symptoms disappear as a result."

Surveys show that up to nine in ten women are wearing the wrong size bra - and 22 per cent have never been measured for one.

It is thought women tend to underestimate the width of their back, while overestimating their cup size.
This leads to their breasts not getting the support they need and pain in the chest, neck and shoulders.
Chaffing from material and wires can also cause discomfort.
Sales of larger bras have almost doubled in the last three years, with a quarter a size D or above.
In November, Marks & Spencer become the first high street store to sell bras up to a J cup.
The chain's best-selling size is now a 36C - slightly bigger than the 34B of five years ago.
